Sue is originally from Vancouver Island where she raised her family in the beautiful Cowichan Valley. Originally inspired by her high school coach, a passion for field hockey developed when she was a teenager. Sue’s commitment to the sport grew as she played at the Provincial level, traveling across Canada. Her passion for the game eventually saw her become the coordinator of Cowichan Field Hockey. Even after playing for over 55 years, she continues to referee and is motivated by keeping the Sportsplex in excellent condition. In the past Sue has helped raise funds for the Sportsplex’s turf and was involved in the 12-hour relay, which turned out to be an excellent fundraiser. A love for volunteering along with her recreation diploma, make Sue a valued member of the Cowichan Sportsplex Board
