Raised in Shawnigan Lake, Chris brings a strong connection to the community he now helps lead. As Executive Director of the Cowichan Sportsplex, he oversees operations, staff, capital planning, and partnerships, with a focus on steady growth and continuous facility improvement. With over 20 years of experience across sports, business, and media, Chris has built a career in large-scale event execution and business ownership. He has worked with organizations including Pacific FC, the Victoria HarbourCats, Rugby Canada, and Soccer Canada, and held a lead production role during the 2010 Winter Olympics in Whistler. In a municipal capacity, Chris worked as a Program Coordinator with the District of Tofino and founded the Movie Magic Film Camps, providing youth with hands-on filmmaking experience. He was also a fully sponsored skier, giving him a firsthand understanding of athlete development and high-performance environments. Chris is known for his direct, practical leadership style and focus on execution—working closely with partners and stakeholders to deliver a reliable, well-run facility for the community.
