We are planning for the replacement of the 8 lane running track at the Sportsplex. The track is a key asset at the facility and is used regularly by schools, local clubs, and the general public. The current surface is starting to fall apart, with holes and cracks appearing, especially in high use lanes. Based on a recent assessment, the track has limited life remaining and will require full replacement to maintain safe and consistent conditions. The track supports over 20 track meets each year and has hosted provincial level competitions. This is a major capital project, but it is required to keep the track in service and avoid larger costs in the future.
Why It Matters
The current track surface is worn and will continue to decline without replacement. This creates safety concerns and impacts performance for users.
