We are working toward a full replacement of the field hockey turf at the Sportsplex. The current turf has reached the end of its usable life and is showing wear. Seams are starting to show which can become a tripping hazard. This water based turf is one of the most used areas at the facility. It supports field hockey and community use throughout the year. Replacing the turf will ensure we can continue to support games, major tournaments and maintain a high standard of play. This is a major capital project, but it is required to keep the turf in service and avoid larger costs in the future.
Why It Matters
The current turf is worn and will continue to decline without replacement. This creates safety concerns and impacts the quality of play for users.
