The Duncan Daybreak Rotary Club, assisted by a few volunteers & the Cowichan Secondary School Interact Club, planted 103 native plants to help restore the Cowichan Sportsplex nature trail (by the ball fields). The plants, including cedar, fir, willow dogwood, sword fern, various berries & harchak will restore the area to a more natural state, provide food and shelter for the fish, and prevent erosion. Some plants were contributed by the Cowichan Tribes nursery.

Bleachers were installed at the Sportsplex, paid for by the $40,000 they received from the Cowichan 2005 B.C. Senior Games Society on July 16, 2006.

The Cowichan Sportsplex announces their start to Phase II of the Stu Pitts Legacy Campaign, concentrating on an athlete's centre, as well as beautification of the site.

CeeVacs Roadrunners donate $4,000 to the Cowichan Sportsplex raised from their annual 2006 Running & Walking Clinic. This brings the total raised by the Roadrunners to $30,000.
